What Clients Say

TL;DR: Currently one of my favorite restaurants in all of Georgia. Food is consistent and yummy. Admittedly, I haven't tried too many dishes on their menu as I can't seem to convince myself to try something new because their spicy galbi-jjim (pork braised short rib stew - which is "A13" on their menu for $13.99) is just too craveable. This might be my favorite Korean dish, at least currently. It's savory, a little salty, a little sweet, and it's spicy. It's really just comforting. Highly recommend. It is a bit spicy, so beware if your heat tolerance is questionable. I have tried their Grilled Mackerel (wife's favorite thing to order "B1" - $15.99) and their Cold Buckwheat Noodles ("D1" - $12.99). The grilled mackerel is yummy. Unfortunately being as it's fish, it does contain a lot of little bones you gotta deal with while eating... But again, it's to be expected (fish). The cold buckwheat noodle soup is tasty and very refreshing, especially on a hot day. To most people, a cold soup would sound strange, but it definitely works. Great balance of sweet, salty, umami flavors. It comes with a little vinegar and mustard condiments. Just add a little of each. Would recommend. I have had some of their other dishes, but the ones mentioned are the most recently and frequently ordered. Haven't had any bad dishes there yet. The bonchon is quite good as well. They of course always serve the staples like kimchi, bean sprouts, radish, etc but they also seem to include a new/different bonchon frequently which is nice. The inside is fairly small but it's pretty cute. They did a pretty good job of making it feel like being inside a quaint restaurant in Seoul (I've been to Korea). The service has always been good. Each table has a button you can press if you need to speak with the server or need something. With that said, I've never had to use it as they're quite good at ensuring my cup of water is never sitting empty for too long. I would certainly recommend giving this place a try. Just know that English is not the servers' primary language, so if you have questions about the menu, it might be a bit challenging. But thankfully that's a non-issue for me since I just order the A13 and chow down when it arrives. As long as this place is open (and they don't make too many changes to their menu), I'll continue to come back.

Comforting, Flavorful, and Truly Authentic Jang Dok Dae is a hidden gem for Korean comfort food. I had the beef soup, and it was absolutely incredible rich and bubbly deeply flavorful broth with tender beef and perfectly balanced seasoning. It tasted really authentic in the best way possible. The side dishes were fresh and plentiful, the service was absolutely warm, and the cozy vibe made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for real Korean flavors done right, this place is a must try. I Recommend this restaurant.

This is the perfect place to stop and have refreshingly hot soups on the way home from a road trip. The lady who served us was attentive and kind. Everything we had was good. $9.99 lunch specials cannot be beat. I wish we lived closer.

Their soups are the best! Every soup based dish I chose came amazing. The C7 hotpot, with cod was to die for. The seafood pancake is also an appetizer to get. Had combo 2 with bean paste stew and spicy crab, both went great with the provided rice. The only downside of this place is their kalbi, super dry and chewy.

First, let me say that this restaurant was a little bit hard to find for non Korean speaking folks (probably because we don't read Korean😂), so we ended up driving past it at first. However, I promise that the search is worth it. Through wooden doors, you are immediately greeted by some lovely folks who will guide you to a seat; either in an enclosed booth or out in the open. Greeted and sat, you will be introduced to their huge menu, packed with a variety of authentic Korean dishes. We chose the kimchi stew, salad with chives and boiled pork slices, and stir fried pork in spicy sauce. We also got sides of rice, and pickled vegetables. If you are in the mood for a place to decompress from the noise outside and recharge, come to Jang Dok Dae to get some great food. And tip well, the folks here deserve it.
